Background to safe expertise

As a fundamental part of my career as a serving senior police officer, it was necessary for me to be vetted both by HM Government and by an overseas government due to the nature of some of our work. Due to the successes of the Counter-Burglary teams I led I was rewarded with 9 commendations for both investigating and reducing crime.

Approached by leading insurers

Following retirement, and subsequent formation of my security business, we were asked by several leading insurers to examine how and why their client’s safes were being stolen.

We visited twenty-five victims that had had safes stolen, all of whom had safes that had been fitted by others.

A catalogue of corruption

We discovered that the criminals were tipped off by:

  • Someone that had legitimate access to the property e.g. house keepers, cleaners’, and workmen
  • Corrupt jewellers and sellers of watches
  • Corrupt safe installers.

Poor installation makes it easy to steal

We discovered that all, with one exception, had been bolted into a wooden base.  Under tests, these safes can be removed within a minute or so from a wooden base.

We have invented a device to reduce the chances of this happening.

Secrecy and discretion are the real “keys” to your safe

Integrity, confidentiality and excellence underpin the bespoke security solutions and personal service we offer discerning clients. The work conducted throughout the group has led to the development of a team of which we are very proud:

  • Former senior fraud and police investigators
  • Lloyd’s of London insurance security specialists
  • Vetted safe installers and engineers – who, for maximum security, operate on our unique confidential ‘need to know’ basis
  • Police-vetted installers of alarms, CCTV & electronic security equipment
  • Vehicle anti-theft tracking authorised installers
  • Specialists in close protection & building protection
  • Regular ambassadors to insurance providers
  • Mediation and conflict resolution experts

Invited to establish a “safe” business

Following my report into the rise in crime of stolen safes, I was interviewed by leading high net worth insurers and underwriters, who subsequently suggested that I should establish a secure, safe advisory, sales, and installation business.

My fellow director and I interviewed many prospective safe engineers and selected two after a lengthy process.  They have been with us for many years now and are totally trustworthy, with a can-do attitude.

The next step was to investigate how we can reduce the chances of safes being removed when bolted into wood, such as a wooden floor or plinth.

We designed a security base plate that sits under the wood.  Constructed in metal, our base plate significantly strengthens the security fixing of the safe.  We supply this as a no profit (at cost) option to protect the interests of both client and insurers.

Having been vetted by HM Government to a high level, our clients quickly see that integrity and confidentiality are watchwords throughout the Gold Command Group, and this is equally applicable to Cracking Safes.

YOUR SAFE IS SECRET WITH US

Frequent sources of “leaks”

  • Leaks from Jewellers
  • Leaks from Household staff and other employees
  • Leaks from safes installers

Our Unique Confidentiality Service

My fellow Director and I have been vetted by HM Government, plus (in my case) an overseas Government, and we have also been also been DBS checked.  We only have two expert engineers working with us to install all our safes in the UK. They have worked with us since retirement from the Police, some years ago.

Despite the significant trust we have in our engineers, we work as we did in the police “on a need to know basis”. Your personal details are only known to us and not shared with our engineers or the safe manufacturer.  Our engineers get your address but not your name or contact details.  We make all the installation arrangements. This is another level of security we build in to ensure your interests.

Our success is in part due to the installer’s professionalism, customer service level and their can-do attitude. The excellent feed-back we receive from clients has been inspirational.

What happens if I move home? Can I take the safe with me?

Purchasing a good safe is an investment in your security.  In most cases we can remove the safe and transport and install at your new address. There is a charge for this.
